The Stand: Complete and Uncut by Stephen King

Did you ever wonder what the end of mankind would be like? Well, Stephen King does an amazing job of showing you just that - and it's scary. The deterioration of government, the good, evil, and shades of grey in everyone.

"The Stand" is a blend of science fiction/fantasy; the classic 'End of the World' type novel except with a twist as only Stephen King can tell it. A superflu, called Captain Trips, is let loose upon an unsuspecting world by an underground secret lab worker who escapes carrying the virus.

Millions die from the virus leaving only a few hundred left to face a diabolical evil in the badlands of Nevada.

Most of you know the story by now, anyway. The book has been around for 30 years. But we want to make sure that you know the un-edited, uncut version is now available from New English Library in paperback. It's well worth owning the original, unbutchered version of the novel, and certainly worth the mammoth read.

This is King's best work. If you enjoy superb imagery and a realistic plot, you'll love this book. The unedited version really brings the whole epic storyline into sharper focus than ever before. Throw out your old versions and but the original, uncut version for your library.

Then read it all over again. It definitely makes you wonder...What If?
