The White Lioness by Henning Mankell

This is the third Henning Mankell book to feature Inspector Wallander. And again it is a great read. This time Wallander is confronted with a women who is shot without any apparent motive. While the reader knows exactly what is going on, Wallander must grapple with the perplexing case where the woman seems to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It all comes back to the fact that the assassination of Nelson Mandela has been prepared in Sweden and the woman has accidentally seen things that she was not supposed to see.

Can Wallander and his colleagues unravel all the leads to this long and complicated investigation? And exactly what is the ex-KGB man, Konovalenko, hiding?

This intriguing mystery, with multiple storylines and points-of-view, will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Look for the unexpected turns and truly fitting finale. Another wonderful Mankell read.
