St Mohrail was born in the
province of Tammooh (South Cairo, Egypt). Her parents were God fearing,
and her father was a priest, they were without child for a very long time,
afterwards the Lord gave them Mohrail, and soon afterwards they had a son
Abahor. At 12 years old St Mohrail made many miracles, and the Holy Spirit
was upon her. The Emperor Decliatian was persecuting christians at the
time, St Mohrail went on a ship full of christians bound to the Roman Governor
Kilkianos to face the heathen Governor, and confess her Christianity. On
arriving the Governor saw that she was very young being 12 years old so
the Governor was intending to let her go, as our saint perceived this she
cursed the heathen Idols and the Governor, seeing this the Governor ordered
her to be tortured by having her strapped to a wheel and spun around on
spikes, and seated on a metal chair in the midst of a blazing fire, the
saint accepted all this tortures and had great patience, when the Governor
saw this he ordered St Mohrail to be thrown in the midst of many snakes
and lethal spiders, but St Mohrail was not hurt, but the snakes and spiders
all died. Then a angel of the Lord appeared to her and strenghened her,
afterwards our saint gave up her pure and chaste soul into the hands of
the Lord Jesus Christ in the 22nd of January 304 A.D. Her parents took
her pure body and built a church in her name, Her brother Abahor was incouraged
by his sister and also received the crown of martyrdom. Many miracles have
occured through the prayers and intersessions of these great saints and
martyrs till this day.
May their prayers be with us all, and glory be to
God forever. Amen.
