A reason to be in the Church

Who gets our attention today?

Today we see much that sadden and discourage us. We see the forces of evil often seem to be in control.

Is it the TV and the movies? How many hours do we spend each day sitting around watching programs and listing to news.

How many hours we allow electronic media to control our thoughts and compromise our Christian faith? Is it the Internet? Consider the time and efforts we put everyday to browse around searching for news and views, worldly materialistic philosophies. Web sites designed to spread immoralities, corrupted minds and souls set themselves up to spread anti-Christian theories and arguments. False ideological interpretations.

All kind of unorthodox man made religion, free for all. In the net and through the net. Is it the environment and the official culture of today’s Governments? Whether we aware of it or not we are in fact subjected to enormous amount of media advertising’s led to control our sense of direction in so many vital issues concerning our social aspects such as education, entertainment, commercial, families’ welfare and so on…parades in front of our own eyes to read and look everyday wherever we go.

Some of it is freely made available!

Radical thoughts and ideas, new moralities and beliefs to replace traditional Christian faith, free for all morals and disciplines to match the new age we live in… They call it modern thinking! What we do with all this input is vitally important it is becoming very clear to everyone that these negative activities are continuing to devour on a large scale more people through human frailties. By simply choosing to open the flood gate and invite these forces of unchristian habits, thoughts, slogans, and cultures into their social and domestic fabrics, their corrupted qualities will be reflected in what they say and do…

Listen to what the prophet Haggai had to say to these kind of people, "You have sown much, and harvested little, you eat, but you never have your fill, you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes" (Haggai 1:6).

We are inclined to assume that what we see in the mirror is what counts! But we have to understand the real depth of this challenge, for a positive start how much are we prepared to alter this distorted image?

To improve the situation before it is too late, as children of God. Our mirror should reflect an entirely different image. We have to put in an effort to promote a significant change in our lives.. again to see a true Christian image by :

  1. Putting on constant attention to avoid a double intention in our spiritual lives we must hand ourselves completely over to the direction of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to take the place of the highest prominence in our daily lives "I keep the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved." Psalms (16:8.). There is one thing we can be certain of, and that is what really counts… that is to reaffirm our total attention and commitment to the church the house of the Lord. The place where we seek refuge and find shelter at all times… Through the church and by the grace of our Lord the Savior Jesus Christ…. Where we believe and convince that in no other direction is to seek eternal life and salvation as our Lord stated clearly and truly "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; If any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh"(John 6:51).
  2. By constant ambition: when we raise our personal eagerness to such eminent degree that our determination cannot be shaken. . "Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him"(James 1:12)…
  3. By constant discipline: to keep our garden clean and beautiful we must take action, as we are living in a world system with godless values we are bound to encounter a lot of garbage. Therefore we have to shut down the floodgate. To stop the incoming tide of distractive materials from invading our lives…for great evils and temptations are destined to defile our minds and souls…

The fact of the matter is in everything we do we should behold the rule of rules to follow and Trust in God our Lord Jesus Christ.

Depend on him…

Count on him…

Call on the one who is the truth, he will help us conquer lies and enable us to proceed in our lives as everything would be done by the grace of our Lord alone and nothing by us…
